Lucas Biotech is an agricultural biotechnology startup that has developed its own technology called Smart Bioavail Technology, which, when applied to crops, improves soil structure, enhances the native soil microbiota, and facilitates nutrient absorption. The project, endorsed by trials conducted by IMIDA in Murcia, IRTA in Catalonia, and the Polytechnic University of Madrid on crops like broccoli among others, has yielded fruits and vegetables that are nutritionally superior for consumption, larger in size and weight, and with better shelf life.

Lucas Biotech was founded in 2022 as a result of the determination to find an innovative solution that would make a difference for the profitability of the field and the regeneration of natural resources. Through two CDTI projects involving several public research centers, they supported the innovation and developed Bioavail, a compound that, when added to fertilizers or biostimulants, can increase crop productivity by up to 18%, achieving up to 34% more profitability for agricultural producers.
