Ingredients:
– Broccoli
– Water
– Salt and ground black pepper
– Olive oil (or butter)
Instructions:
1. Cut the broccoli into florets, aiming for a relatively uniform size. You can also use the broccoli stalk – simply peel it and cut it into discs.
2. Place just 2 fingers’ worth of water in a large pot. Add a pinch of salt, cover, and bring to a high heat.
3. Once the water is boiling, add the broccoli florets. Cover the pot and let it steam for 5 minutes.
4. After 5 minutes (less if you prefer it more al dente), turn off the heat and drain the broccoli in a colander.
5. Place the florets in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
