Get to know our association

The Association to Promote the Consumption of Broccoli (+ BROCCOLI) was founded in 2010 as a non-profit organization, with the main purpose of increasing the consumption of broccoli (a vegetable scientifically named Brassica olercea L. var. Italica Plenck). It brings together farmers, marketers, researchers, nutritionists, restaurateurs and all those related entities and people interested in spreading that any product from a crop of said species, even processed in any of its forms, can provide enormous healthy benefits, while constituting delicious food.

The general purposes of + Broccoli are:

1. . Inform about the health benefits of rational consumption of Broccoli.

2. Spread the message “Broccoli, a healthy pleasure”.

3. Inform and disseminate the way to cook broccoli so that its consumption is nutritious and pleasant at the same time for all tastes.

4. Analyze the Broccoli market, supply and demand situation, continuously in order to draw conclusions about its behavior.

+ Broccoli specifically deals with:

  1. Develop and promote the image of the Association around the message “Broccoli, a healthy pleasure”.
  2. Promote activities of debate, training, communication and public opinion around Broccoli and its consumption.
  3. Collect and disseminate scientific information that supports the nutritional and healthy properties of Broccoli, as well as its proper conservation, preparation and consumption.
  4. Establish the communication policy that disseminates the information obtained.
  5. Give uniformity and continuity to the messages that the consumer perceives

regarding Broccoli.

  1. Promote actions of training and nutritional and culinary education of citizens.
  2. Establish the advertising and promotion policy for Broccoli at the point of sale.
  3. Support and collaborate with the individual dissemination strategies of the partners and member companies.
  4. Procure the coordination of the promotion and advertising initiatives of the producer sector within its territorial scope.
  1. Participate in the activities of other associations with similar purposes and in particular with the 5 a day movement at the national and international level.
  2. Associate with organizations or associations that observe the same purposes for other fruits or vegetables.
  3. Make forecasts of the demand for broccoli and inform your partners about it and its evolution.
  4. Any others that are not opposed to any of the aforementioned.
